Old Catholic Communion
We are pleased to announce that we have entered into a formal process of finalizing full communion with the Old Catholic Communion. Our diocese and our sisters and brothers of the OCC hold fast to the ecclesiology, theology, and spirituality of Old (ancient) Catholicism. Old Catholics maintain an ancient faith and are also progressive in our outlook and practice. Thus, we adhere faithfully to the teachings handed down to us from the apostles. At the same time, we welcome and embrace all people. Laity takes part in decision-making. Ordination is open to women and GLBT individuals.
Licensed Lay Ministers
On Pentecost Sunday, 2024, we licensed David Mancillia and Raul Rosario as Lay Ministers. They will serve the parish of All Saints/Todos los Santos. Licensed Lay Ministers (LLM) are authorized by by the bishop to assist the clergy in the regular Saturday/Sunday liturgy as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and translator. They serve under the oversite of the parish clergy, but are issued license to lead an authorized liturgy of word and Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament in the absence of a priest. Our goal is to raise up other LLMs in each parish within the diocese.
